There has been discussion in the General Discussion area about the 150' rule and the lack of obeying it.
So about 2:30 today I had the Weirs Channel cam up on my computer while doing some work and saw an interesting sight  . A single boat was going down (S) thru the channel at a pretty good clip. (played the animation feature to be sure) Left a substantial wake too.
Just because it is early spring do boaters think it is ok to speed thru the channel? They can do shore damage as well as to the boats that are already at the docks/slips.
It is a shame the MP cannot utilize the cam (for severe situations only).

Why can't the MP use the cam? I heard that the MP did check with the cam operator about that fatal night-time boat accident, the Baja's slip was in the channel. From what I remember there was nothing useful.
The pictures are a bit graining and you probably couldn't read a hull number but in general, why couldn't they use them?
