Temps in the 50's during the day for the next 7-10 days. More importantly, temps at or above freezing at night, rain, wind. Shouldn't be long now.

A little pond near my home should go today (just a little skim left on the surface from the cold of the past few days). It is usually about 2 weeks before the lake ice out.

We should get an early start on the liquid portion of the lake year this year.

Man, I WISH!

Would love to see that, but my guess is April 26 at 2:42 pm...later than most ice-outs. Been chilly so far and haven't seen 60s yet.

Temps mid-60s or above for 7+ days and some good wind may do it. Ice still seems pretty thick in many places.

You are kidding right?? On Sunday there was all of 18" of solid black ice, there was at least one truck on Wolfy Bay on Sat. There is still at least 1/12 of a year before the ice goes....when was tghe last time YOU were on the ice???

Remember last year when the individual who declares ICE OUT was predicting May 12 and was not even close? All it takes is some warm sun and wind & it will go rapidly. The rest of the week is going to be in the 50's, approaching 60 on some days & thats just this week. If the beginning of April is warm ICE OUT could be mid-April.

I'm still liking my early April guess (same guess every year, son's birthday). But usually figure a snowballs chance in....

As stated earlier, I'm guessing we see it disappear a lot faster than people think if the current 10-day forecast holds.
